Cheshire Tap is a craft beer bar and real ale destination at Kings Court, Altrincham — established in 2018 and one of the area's most celebrated independent hospitality venues. JW Digital built the Cheshire Tap website as part of the Kings Court venue group project, alongside Gin Can Altrincham and The Ivy League.

Cheshire Tap is one of Altrincham's most established independent craft beer bars — a Kings Court venue with 20+ rotating craft beer taps, 30+ bottled beers, and a reputation for supporting local breweries and live music since 2018.
The venue operates as a community hub for craft beer enthusiasts and live music fans, with rotating taps from local and independent breweries, an extensive bottled beer selection, and live music events on weekends. It's dog-friendly until 8pm and two minutes from Altrincham Interchange.
JW Digital built Cheshire Tap's website as part of the multi-venue Kings Court project, giving the bar a distinctive online presence while maintaining visual coherence with sister venues Gin Can Altrincham and The Ivy League.
A craft beer bar's website needs to communicate character and community as much as practical information. The rotating tap list, live music events, and dog-friendly policy are selling points that needed to feel as alive online as they do in the venue.
The site also needed to handle ongoing content needs — changing beers, upcoming events, and live music listings — without requiring significant technical effort to update.
As part of the Kings Court venue group, the site needed a visual identity clearly connected to the group while being distinctly Cheshire Tap's own.
We built a character-forward website that leads with the Cheshire Tap's identity — craft beer community hub, local breweries, live music, dog-friendly — rather than leading with a generic hospitality template.
The rotating tap list, bottled beer menu, and events calendar are presented as dynamic content the venue can update. Social integration connects the site to ongoing Instagram and Facebook activity, keeping content fresh between updates.
Location and practical information (transport links from Altrincham Interchange, opening hours, contact details) are clearly structured for the planning and discovery use cases.
Understood the venue's craft beer community identity, events programme, and relationship to the Kings Court group.
Created a character-forward design for Cheshire Tap — distinctive from Gin Can and The Ivy League while sharing Kings Court visual language.
Built the Next.js site with menu display, events calendar, social integration, and dynamic content capability.
Launched as part of the Kings Court multi-venue website project.
“John created our websites for 4 of our businesses, which I am extremely happy with. Despite my lack of knowledge he took his time to show me every aspect of the design and how it will increase customer interaction for us. The websites paid for themselves within a matter of weeks thanks to a number of new bookings coming via the sites. I would highly recommend JW Digital.”
